We have great news for all fans of the American band Evanescence – on June 5 the band will visit Poland. The concert will take place at the Scena Letnia Progresji in Warsaw.

The band’s return to great form was also noticed and appreciated by Polish fans, the best proof of which is Amy Lee’s triumph in the Antyradio poll – she became the Vocalist of Rock 2022. Antyradio is a patron of the Evanescence concert.

Ticket sales will begin on Monday, March 27. The price will be PLN 219 in the presale and PLN 240 on the day of the concert.

Note: For all those who did not return a ticket in December and were at the Within Temptation concert, despite the absence of Evanescence due to the singer’s sudden illness, we have provided a special discount – details will be announced on Monday.

The band Tigress will perform as support. “Pura Vida”, the title of British quintet Tigress’ debut album, means “Pure Life” – and that’s exactly what their music sounds like, which is upbeat yet brimming with guitar energy, harking back to 90s grunge and alternative rock.

NIGHTWISH (Finlandia)

The Finnish band, led by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, has been blazing its own trail in the metal world since the second half of the 1990s. Its trademarks are infectious melodies, bombastic arrangements and a female voice that combines sweetness and strength – a task currently filled by Floor Jansen, who made her debut as Nightwish’s vocalist on the album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful.” There is probably no metal band that has been more spectacularly successful in the 21st century.

Last spring saw the release of the long-awaited double album “Human. :II: Nature.” , containing 17 premiere compositions. The themes of the songs include humanity’s relationship with nature, technology and art. The material is difficult to assign to one genre – it is full of unexpected twists and turns, from rock to metal, to folk to neoclassical, but it is always 100% Nightwish.

BEAST IN BLACK (Finlandia)

In the special year of 2020, Finnish fans of classic heavy and power metal, the Beast In Black group, turned five years of existence. Founded by guitarist and vocalist Anton Kabanen, who formerly played in Battle Beast, the group managed to tour a good chunk of the world during the five-year period, released two studio albums, and gained a sizable fan base thanks to live performances that were as outstanding as the albums.
Anton Kabanen – guitar and keyboards, Máté Molnár – bass guitar, Kasperi Heikkinen – guitar (ex-U.D.O.), Yannis Papadopoulos – vocals and drummer Atte Palokangas were quickly signed to the renowned Nuclear Blast label. Their debut album “Berserker” (2017) went gold, proving that strong, melodic music in which influences of Accept, Judas Priest, Blind Guardian or Manowar clash will always be in demand.

TURMION KÄTILÖT (Finlandia)

Their name is Midwives of Condemnation, and their music is just as crazy. In it, a powerful death metal sound coexists with cold industrial mechanics and danceable rhythms, but there’s also enough room for rousing, anthemic choruses shouted by two possessed vocalists. Some say Turmion Kätilöt is party metal – yes, but with the assumption that it’s a BDSM party in a nuclear fallout shelter arranged for those who survived the nuclear holocaust and are all the same.

WITHIN TEMPTATION (Netherlands)

In the mid-1990s, all of metal Europe was brimming with testosterone and arming itself for a war against light and good sound, unleashed by Norwegian black-metalists. The Dutch band Within Temptation, born at that time, moved against the tide. Sharon den Adel stood behind the microphone, singing in a confident, full voice, and the group’s compositions were based on catchy melodies and crystal clear but powerful, even bombastic production.

As time went by, it turned out that the vast territory of symphonic metal was too narrow for Within Temptation, and the band was just as bold to signify 80s pop influences – take the cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, for example – as well as inspirations going far beyond metal or even rock territory, as evidenced by their collaboration with American rapper Xzibit. Anyway, not to look far, they also have a single to their credit – “Whole World is Watching” – with a guest appearance by Piotr Rogucki.

Because Within Temptation elude all attempts at pigeonholing, conducting their career the same way they play concerts – with energy, without complexes, with a flair that is the envy of half the world.

EVANESCENCE (USA)

The emergence of Evanescence was a real revelation. Even more so because it started with an earthquake – the single “Bring Me To Life” not only catapulted the band to the top (a Grammy straight away for a debut doesn’t happen every day), but in general restored the world’s faith in the power of rock, which at the beginning of the 21st century seemed to be in retreat.

Evanescence did it differently from everyone else, combining numetal punch with gothic sombreness, but they did it well. We don’t even mention an asset like Amy Lee, one of the best female voices in rock and metal… It’s no wonder that after just three well-received albums – “Fallen” (2003), “The Open Door” (2006) and “Evanescence” (2011) – the group has established itself as one of the most important new phenomena in the American guitar music scene.

We’ve been waiting for Evanescence’s album of new material for almost a decade. Fortunately, it’s already here – “The Bitter Truth” has just been released.

SMASH INTO PIECES (Szwecja)

One of the hottest names in Scandinavian alternative rock. The Swedish quartet’s music defies categorization – because you’ll hear both strong riffs and dance rhythms, as well as an electronic pulse – and the lyrics look far into the future. It’s enough to immerse yourself in the digital world created on the album “ARCADIA,” the fifth in the Swedes’ output, or this year’s epics “Real One” and “VR” to be swept away by this vision. The live version is further enhanced by a show that combines technological flavor with rock element.

SLIPKNOT (USA)

To say that the emergence of Slipknot at the end of the 1990s was a breath of fresh air for the metal scene is like saying with a tsunami that it is pleasantly buoyant. Slipknot were a hurricane hit.
A new quality and at the same time the culmination of the best of the decade’s extreme music: the deathmetal heaviness and heat of black metal under one roof with the intensity of hardcore and the down-to-earthness of rap? Before the release of “Slipknot,” we didn’t know it was possible. After “Iowa” and “Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)” we no longer knew how to live without it. Equally important was the demented image: nine individuals in overalls and grotesque masks. It’s unclear whether they escaped from a maximum security prison or from your nightmare….
It wasn’t without problems, lineup changes and a crisis that almost ended the band, but you know what doesn’t kill us… That’s why the album “We Are Not Your Kind,” released in 2019, is one of the best material of the band from Des Moines, and the band’s live form places them at the current peak of extreme music.

On July 23 in Katowice’s Spodek you will come face to face with three titans of thrash. The star of the evening will be Megadeth, and their guests: Kreator and Sacred Reich.

They’ve never been the most popular, the most extreme or the most fun of the Big Four thrash metal bands. But they’re probably the hardest working and most consistent, so they’re the only ones who, after four decades on the scene, are recording such fantastic albums as the 2022 release. “The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!”. Megadeth are returning to Poland to play you their symphony of destruction in Katowice, Spodek.

Megadeth is, of course, Dave Mustaine, thrash’s first guitar and one-of-a-kind voice, but his comrades are also masters of their craft. He is partnered on second guitar by Kiko Loureiro (formerly a mainstay of the Brazilian Angra), and the rhythm section includes bassist James LoMenzo (seen on stage alongside Zakk Wylde, among others) and drummer Dirk Verbeuren (from Soilwork to The Devin Townsend Project). Together they form one of the best live bands in modern metal.

You will find out in Katowice on July 23 this year. The names of the other bands who will appear at Triple Thrash Triumph will be announced in the coming weeks.
